2013 Ekiti State Scholarship And Bursary (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Special)

 

The Ekiti State government has instituted various Scholarship and Bursary Awards for Ekiti State Students in the Federal, State and Private Universities

Free Application forms for undergraduate, Masters Degree, PHD and Physically Challenged are now available to prospective applicant at Ekiti State Scholarship Board, New Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti. Those who prefer to apply online should CLICK HERE ; 2013 Scholarships and Bursary category.

Completed application forms MUST be sent to: scholarshipboard@ekitistate.gov.ng not later than 1st October, 2013.

PhD and MSc AGRICULTURE GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR AFRICAN STUDENTS, 2013

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is inviting applications for graduate scholarships in the Cassava value chain, under the project “Support to Agricultural Research for Development of Strategic Crops in Africa” (SARD-SC). Ten MSc and seven PhD scholarships are awarded at any reputable African university in one of the SARD-SC cassava target countries. African nationals are eligible for these scholarships. These scholarships will include a stipend, research costs, tuition, travel and insurance. Application must be submitted by 30th August 2013.

Mrs Emily O Akinluyi Scholarship for Female Students at University of Sussex in UK, 2013

The University of Sussex offers scholarship for female students in UK. Scholarship is provided in the Schools of Business, Management and Economics, Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Engineering and Informatics. This scholarship is available for undergraduate degree level. The scholarship will provide £5000 cash payment over the length of the course, payment size depending if the recipient is on a three or four year course. The application deadline is 19th October 2013.

The programme is being implemented by the ANGLE Consortium which comprises 11 (eleven) European Universities, 9 (nine) ACP (African, Carribeans and Pacific) Countries’ Higher Education Institutions and 32 Associate Institutions (including University of Nigeria, Nsukka). 4AFRIKA MICROSOFT SCHOLARSHIP 2013

In recognition of International Youth Day on August 12, 2013, Microsoft introduced the 4Afrika Scholarship program, through which the company will provide mentorship, leadership and technical training, certification, university-level education and employment opportunities for promising African students. There ap-pears to be no end in sight to the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, in the country as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala declared, yesterday, that the nation’s economy cannot accommodate the demands of the lecturers for now.

BOKO HARAM kills 56 in Borno mosque

IN yet another bizarre occurrence, suspected members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, have reportedly gunned down 44 people praying in a mosque in Borno State.

Agency reports on Monday indicated that the killings occurred on Sunday morning at a mosque in Konduga town, about 35 kilometres outside Maiduguri, the Borno State capital city.

A State Security Service agent and a member of a vigilante group working with the military told the Associated Press on Monday that they counted the bodies at the mosque after the attack.
